Snippets of Sam: The Lord Does His Own Work!

This Week….

We really saw a lot of blessings. Sunday last week our investigator who was going to get baptized sent us a message saying that she didn`t want to anymore and to please not announce her baptism in sacrament meeting. She wouldn't answer the phone so we just sent a couple of messages telling her that the trials that were in her path were because Satan did NOT want her to get baptized knowing the blessings she would recieve if she did, and telling her to pray and read.

The next day we called her again and she answered saying she wasn't sure still but that we could come by the next day. Then Wednesday when we went by she was doing a lot better. We talked to her about the importance of what she was doing and just tried to follow the spirit and give her the support she wasn't getting in her home. Thursday she had her interview and passed with FLYING colors. That really helped her so much and then we talked to her about strength and the spirit. Friday we called her and she was happy! She thanked us for everything and said she was excited to be baptized.

Saturday she came ARM in ARM with her husband smiling! (her husband who is a less active member was her biggest impediment because they just had lots and lots of problems between them.) She got baptized and was just SOOO happy! It was pretty hectic at the beginning, like any baptism, but this time we were prepared with Plan B`s for almost everything and so it turned our really well. Her whole family said it was just beautiful!

Sunday was even better! It was just such a great testimony to me that the Lord does his own work. I have seen that a lot this week. We do what we can by following his promptings, he gives impressions and answers to those who truly seek him, and though he lets us all be tempted it is never above that which we can bear. He does EVERYTHING.

We were talking to another family this week who we had stopped visiting for a while because they just weren't progressing like we were hoping, and he told us that he had a dream that his deceased wife had told him to go to a house a prayer she had never had the chance to know. He said he knows he will get baptized he just needs time. Our other investigator had a similar dream. We had several lessons that were so spiritual and that we felt the progress of some of those we are teaching. Some still have trouble keeping their commitments and just can't receive all that the father hath until they do, but it has been so amazing to see what the Lord does for all of his children. He gives us everything, but through our actions or laziness, our faith or our distrust, and our courage or cowardness we accept or reject it.
